The Little Things in Life

I've been talking to a good friend of mine today and it came to my attention that so many of us seem to pass through our daily lives without looking at the beautiful little things in our world.

Look outside right now. Seriously, just go look. Take in the beauty of this earth. Yep, it's probably kinda wet and muddy and gross, but man that sky... The sunset... The moon... The stars... We see these things every single day, but how often to we take in their beauty?

Think about your day today. How many people made you smile today? How many people did you make smile today? I bet you can't even count. Those smiles are things we see every day but we just pass by those smiles like they're nothing.

What about your favorite song, or a fresh T-shirt out of the laundry, or a funny twitter post, or watching today's new episode of that on TV show, or that squirrel that ran past you walking home from class, or that text message that made you blush, or passing room inspection, or being able to go outside without a coat, or even just being able to relax and not think about anything.

Fill your heart with the joy of the world that has been created for you. There are so many things, just look around.

I am Truly Loved

"Jesus loves me! This I know,

For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong."

I think that most of us know, or at least know of, the song quoted above. I can honestly say that I've never sang it before, but I've heard it a few times in my 19 years on this Earth. I have known that Jesus loves me, but I haven't really known that He loves me.

This is one step in the many I have been taking in this new adventure with the Lord. I have heard that Jesus loves me so many times, but I became numb to the words. Yeah, yeah, I know, I know, Jesus loves me, but why don't other people love me? Why is this our mentality? Why is Jesus' love not enough? He willingly gave up His life for us. All of us!

But on the other hand, there are so many people in the church who love us almost as much. Jesus' love just flows through them and their lives and their hearts right into my soul. These people care about me. These people care about you. I care about you, and I don't even know who you are that is reading this, but I promise that I love you dearly.*

We are loved, not only by Jesus, but also by our brothers and sisters in Christ.

So far today I have had 11 encounters with people who love me, and it hasn't even hit 12:00 yet. I am not unwanted. This is not something I have ever paid attention to, and I am so happy the God has opened my eyes.

One of my beautiful friends sent me a wonderful message today and I feel that I should share:

"Keep smiling, girl, cuz you've got a beautiful smile and beautiful heart created by the God of the universe who loves you intimately!"
This goes out to all of you (even if you're a boy). You were created by the God of the universe who loves you intimately.

I Am Worth Dying For

Recently I have been finding myself finally becoming jealous for time with my Savior, and I feel that I am being called to share this beautiful adventure with anyone who wants to be a part of it.

So here we are. I have never written in a public blog before. This being my first post, it will probably be pretty short, sweet, and poorly written, but something that is on my heart nonetheless.

I went onto Spotify looking for a specific song to pick me up a bit, but a different one caught my eye:

No matter how abandoned I feel, Jesus is always with me. Christ will not kick me to the curb. Christ will not let go of me. Christ will continue to fight for me.

Christ died for me.

I am someone worth dying for.

You are someone worth dying for.
